Our Founder’s Story

It Started With 82 Rejections and No Explanation

I applied to 82 jobs in four months. I received four replies. Three were automated. One arrived eleven weeks after I applied.

Nobody told me why. I had shipped real products, had achievements I was proud of, and had people who could vouch for my work. But I didn't understand how applicant tracking systems were reading my resume. A friend in recruiting eventually pointed out something I had completely missed: my resume looked fine to a person, but its structure wasn't working well for the systems processing it.

I changed the formatting, made my skills clearer, and started tailoring my resume to the jobs I was applying for. The response changed. Then came the interviews. I realized I had another problem. I knew my work, but under interview pressure, I struggled to explain it clearly.

That experience led to a simple question:

Why shouldn't candidates be able to understand what they're doing wrong before they get rejected?

That question became the starting point for Resumeon. Today, we're building tools that help candidates create better resumes, understand how their experience aligns with a job, and practice before the interview.
